May 2 mtg- We will be going to the Richburg cemetery for a community service project. Please try to dress down for school this day as we will be cleaning stones. Raindate May 9. Parents will pick girls up there.
If anyone has scub brushes, ice scrapers, or water buckets that we can use, please get them to the leaders prior to this date.
103 letters sent to recovering wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital for
Christmas.
We sent Christmas cards to a boy named Max with leukemia who
last wish was to receive 1,000,000 cards.
We made over 100 dog biscuits. We made many cat toys. We definitely exceeded our goal of 100
items! Joyful Rescue animals came to visit us and we loved playing with them.
We learned about pet safety and played a game learning some do's and don'ts with
animals.
Girls, please be practicing your promise at home.
DAISY SONG:
I'M A GIRL SCOUT DAISY, TAKE A LOOK AT ME
I'M A GIRL SCOUT DAISY, AS HAPPY AS CAN BE
I'M GOING ON A JOURNEY WITH FRIENDS ALONG THE WAY
I'M A GIRL SCOUT DAISY, HIP HIP HOORAY!
PARENT INFO:
SWAPS(special whatchamacallits affectionately pinned somewhere) are small handmade crafts usually with a pin-back or small safety pin that are traded with all other Girl Scouts we meet at events. This is a tradition. The SWAP sometimes has the girl's first name only on it along with the troop number, however, most times they have the town where they live, and the troop number somewhere on it. White computer labels work well for this. We encourage girls to reuse and recycle materials that most households already have...... If you need help, Google Girl Scout swaps( you will find tons of ideas).
